It's a Beautiful Little World out there

Spring comes and arrives, yet here I am working away for the final push to make sure I get the project that I have been slaving away for months to work.  Although, I can't yet go home to celebrate Mother's Day or even my father's birthday, they understand how important that it is to get this project out of the way.  Come July maybe it will be a good thing from all the effort that I have spent on it.

Yet still, the sun is shining, the birds are tweeting, sakura blooming, the blue skies above us.  I want to fly high.

Sun beams,
Through the branches,
The winding trail.

Earthquake of Magnitude 8.9 hits Japan

Thoughts go to all the people in Japan for their safety.

News so far:

• Japan hit by vast 8.9 earthquake, 10m tsunami
• At least eight dead, dozens injured
• Four million without power
• Buildings in Tokyo shook for several minutes
• Japanese PM warns of 'major damage'
• Nuclear plants shut with 'no material' leaking yet
• Japan quake's 8.9 magnitude makes it the 5th-strongest in the world since 1900, says the US Geological society.

A major earthquake hit Japan on Friday afternoon. Japan's Meteorological Agency says the quake had a magnitude of 7-point-9.
The agency has issued a tsunami warning for Japan's Pacific coast, saying tsunami waves as high as 6 meters can be expected in some areas.
At ports in Miyagi Prefecture, tsunami waves as high as 4 meters were observed soon after the quake.
People near the coast are advised to evacuate to higher ground immediately.
In Miyagi Prefecture, northeastern Japan, quake intensity of 7 was recorded.

AFP reports:

The car park at Tokyo Disneyland was drenched with water-logged segments from the ground. It was earlier reported that a tsunami might have caused the inundation but police said the phenomenon was due to liquefaction of soil caused by the intense shaking of the tremor. There were 69,000 people at the Disneyland and the adjacent Tokyo Disney Sea, built on a landfill in Tokyo Bay, when the quake occurred, a spokesman at the local Urawa police station said. There were no injuries or property damage reported at the theme parks.

Another earthquake is heading its way as we speak.

You can't hear this title as the Shop Vac is too...

Just something to bring all of us to smile before 2010 is over as I've seen other kinetic typography animations in the past, but none of them were as good as this one and none of them were set to such a nice poppy happy tune: Jonathan Coulton's Shop Vac.

It was created with Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere and Toon Boom Animate in "somewhere between 500-1000 hours." A labor of love, says its creator Jarrett Heather.

As I want to comment but I can't because you probably wont hear this comment because it's so darn loud with the shop vac on. =D

Orange skies floating and settling

Am currently sitting near Temple in London as I type this on my phone.  Having a 4 hour break in between lectures can kind of suck but at least I've found a beautiful spot to sit and watch the sunset while waiting for the lecture.
Just realised that I've overspent on my budget, so have to save money and not spend for the next two weeks. Easier said then done since I am in London.  Although it would be great to actually lose weight and save money.  Wish there was someone who has the same wants too, so that we can motivate and support each other.
Also need to actually look for masters courses now since I've now understood studying is way better than working.  We only have one shot at this.
So as I am typing and wondering about my future, I really do not understand why people after coming for one lecture, could go home straight afterwards.  Ah well, at least I've found my favourite spot now, since it's not that far from university as well.
As a little addendum,  Ezura, was trying to Skype you since we haven't spoken for a while but it says you aren't available.   When are you usually online?

To all my friends, thank you.

The Time Where Leaves Change Colour

Media_httpsenakunesfi_igrbe

Autumn is now upon us.

Time flies with a lot of work to do and your chance to have a little bit fo fun is limited.  The weather is getting colder in London but not to the point that it is boneshattering cold.  Although, I do wish sometimes that there where some nce comforting stalls to keep you warm.  Not junk food like hot dogs, burgers and other stuff.  More of home comforting like hot chestnuts, hot potatos (like those things you get in Asian countries, sweet potato I think they are called).

I'm overwhelmed with work at the moment, which is why quite a few people have rarely saw me online, or even update Twitter or even this.  But I'm aiming to write a post every week to make sure I remember for years to come.

I do have a song that seems fitting for this post, and that it does try to lift a smile to my smile whenever I do feel a little lonely and sad that I am not around the good friends I know, so maybe you may understand the feel of the song than the words.

It's called "The Song of the Baked Potato"

"T'is good to be around friends and share the things you love."

Finally the weekend is here!

Spent a fair bit of time working on essays and making sure stuff do not hit the deadline.  It has been a while since I have updated the blog, due to the schedule that I am running.

I oughta work on blogging more and thinking of the future I want to head to.  Might start looking for a Masters Course but times are tough in this day and climate.  Need to really push myself this time to work a little bit harder...

A Halloween Special: Zombie vs Kids

Since Halloween is coming... and that someone called Graeme loves to talk to zombies a lot...

In this amazing video, a TV crew plays a prank on three children who believe they must fight off a zombie who's coming into their home. Japanese people are not afraid to play pranks on little kids that empower them to be stronger and more imaginative.

The zombie writes them a letter to tell them he's coming over, and then takes off his shoes before entering the house. Very polite.  The weapons they use are great too: Tabasco, plastic wrap, a toy dinosaur...

Don't know if subtitles/annotations works so it's best you click on the video twice to watch it on YouTube!

Happy Halloween

PS: Don't be a zombie and do ths to your kids unless you want a toy dinosaur aimed right at your groin... or erm Tabasco on your face...
